WIPO has recently announced about ‘Translation Tool’ that has artificial intelligence for document translations.
This tool is mainly developed to translate documents from Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages into English as patent applications in those languages accounted to be more than 55% of the worldwide filings.
WIPO Director General Francis Gurry said, “As part of a global trend, patent applications are increasingly being filed in East Asian languages, particularly in Chinese, and WIPO Translate helps ensure that state-of-the-art knowledge created in these languages is shared as widely and rapidly as possible.”
The new WIPO translator is claimed to be very accurate. A test was conducted where around 60 million Chinese sentences were translated in English and it outperformed by rendering higher quality texts.
